5 Myths About Russian Women

Here are some myths about Russian women:

Myth #1-Russian Women just want to "get out":

It is just a fairy-tale invented by Western media and feminists who are very upset at seeing more and more Western men becoming less interested in them and more interested in pursuing Russian women. However, it is untrue. Let's make simple calculations. In 2007 there were approximately 250,000 women registered with marriage agencies. The population of Moscow is approximately 10 million people and that of St. Petersburg is nearly 5 million people. Assuming that 60% of these numbers are female, and of those 50% are of marriage age, this is 4.5 million women available. So, only about 4.5% of the women are seeking foreign men. And this is only 2 cities from one country. But there is also Ukraine (and the percentages of women looking for foreign husbands is considerably LESS there than it is in Russia), Belarus, or any of the other former Soviet Union countries.

It is just stats, but actually many of Russian ladies who are registered with agencies want to meet Western men for email friendship, chat, dating, sex, romance or marriage but yet are not interested in leaving their country! They are hoping that the man will move and live with them in Russia (or Ukraine, etc...)!

And who says that someone must want to come to a foreign country. Not each woman will want it. When a Russian lady comes to the USA, she leaves her family, friends, job and even her whole life behind. In some cases it is a huge sacrifice.

Myth #2-Russian Women only want to be housewives:

Nowadays just some of Russian ladies would prefer to sit at home and keep house. Many do wish to work somewhere within people or just with some interesting work. A lot of Russian girls have high education, are quick-witted, bright and very responsible. They have advanced degrees and good professions. Give her some opportunity to support the family. And thanks to it she will be happier.

Myth #3-Russian Women dislike Russian Men:

You may think that if all these beautiful and sexy Russian women have posted their profiles, they must be very disappointed with their men. But it is not so. Actually, they would prefer to find a Russian man, if at all possible. The problem is that many of the Russian men have a little "friend" named "Vodka" and because of it they can even beat their wives or girlfriends, and also they think nothing about being unfaithful. But such behaviour concerns just some percent of Russian men. The situation was worse earlier and with improving economy some of them are trying to provide their families, but some still think that they will never be able to do it. So they do not try. There are also men thinking that women should earn money in any case. And because of it many of the women have simply given up on the idea to find good, perspective man in their home country.
They also consider western men to be more polite, more stable, more kind and less inebrious. But the picture can be depicted everywhere.

Myth #4-It will be very difficult for a Russian Woman to adjust to life in the West:

This is another fairy-tale invented mainly by feminists and feminist groups (along with the news media). In a fact, people coming to another country to live have just a period of cultural shock, but not the whole life. And then they live typical lives. They drive everywhere (most of them should be taught because most people in Russia do not drive), go shopping, work, taking kids to school (in some cases they are taking classes themselves), etc... There can just a problem with a mortgage or a checkbook because their economy structured quite differently. But everything can be taught.
And of course they will miss their relatives, friends, but the technologies don’t stay at a place and Russian people nowadays also have an opportunity to go online, that’s why they can chat through the skype or send e-mails.

Myth #5-Russian Women are seeking much older men:

Actually it is partially true. In Russian culture, there has always been a tendency for women to marry older men. But it is not only in Russia, European women would also prefer to see a mature man in the role of their husband. They usually more experienced, settled down, more careful. Don’t forget that sometimes young men can also have such features.
Also be very careful! Sometimes women writing in their profiles a great age difference 20-25 years and even more may purpose their own aim. Do you really think she wants to be your nurse when you are old? It is hardly believable. The most respectable age difference may be 10-15 years. Two of this age can have much in common, and this is the most important factor. This range is quite common in Russia, but any more than this and don’t ask for problems.
